Since we are photographers ourselves we have the software and skills to
perform a number of digital darkroom tasks. We can work with raw files or
JPEG's directly from your camera, or almost any other graphics file format.
- Exposure and Color Correction - while we
can work with files in almost any format, the less processing they have
previously had the better. 16 bit files are preferred for these
corrections in order to reduce banding.
- Noise Reduction - chromatic and luminance
noise are the gremlins of the digital image; we have the tools to help
reduce both types of noise.
- Interpolation - also called "upsizing" or "upscaling",
this is the process of expanding a digital image to the number of pixels
required to make a print of a certain size. We have both the
experience and the tools to interpolate a file properly for printing at a
specific size.
- Panorama Stitching - we have stitched
panoramas made up of over 25 images.
- Sharpening - we have the tools and
experience to sharpen images for a variety of purposes: proper display on
the web or in print, to increase apparent depth of field, to improve focus,
etc.
- Conversion to Black & White - we can
convert your digital files to "black and white" (actually grayscale) while
simulating a number of darkroom filters: deep red, red, orange, yellow.
- HDR (High Dynamic Range) - we can help you
combine multiple exposures of the same scene into a single image with more
areas properly exposed.
